Heavy-duty chemical absorbent booms for acids, solvents & aggressive spills. OSHA/EPA compliant with pH 0-14 resistance. Custom lengths & emergency deployment kits. Request free chemical compatibility check.

Let’s be real – not all spills play nice. That’s why our chemical absorbent booms exist. Picture this:

A chemical plant manager’s nightmare scenario:
⚠️ Leaking sulfuric acid pooling near storm drains
⚠️ Solvent vapors triggering gas detectors
⚠️ Clock ticking on EPA reporting deadlines

Our booms are the Swiss Army knife for these crises. Unlike standard oil-only versions, these yellow warriors:
✔️ Absorb pH 0-14 liquids (from battery acid to caustic soda)
✔️ Contain volatile organic compounds without off-gassing
✔️ Come with pre-filled incident reports to speed up compliance

Engineered for Chemical Warfare (Literally)

🔬 The Science Bit

We’ve packed three defense layers into 8-inch diameter:

  1. Outer armor: Chemically inert HDPE mesh (think of it as hazmat suits for booms)
  2. Absorbent core: Modified polypropylene that “eats” acids but won’t melt like competitors’
  3. Safety liner: Leak-proof barrier that laughs at 50psi pressure

Pro Tip: The yellow color isn’t just for show – it’s ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 compliant for instant hazard recognition.

Where These Booms Earn Their Keep

Case Study: Battery Manufacturing Meltdown
Client: Global EV battery supplier
Problem: 200L electrolyte leak (pH 1.5) during cell formation
Our Move:

  • Deployed 15m of booms in figure-8 pattern around leak
  • Contained spill within 8 minutes
  • Recovered 182L reusable electrolyte
Bonus: Provided disposal manifests passing China GB 5085.3 standards

I love these things. I hear their main use is for oil spills in garages and stuff, but I use this product in a chemical laboratory. It easily pulls up spilled liquids. A massive water spill (say five gallons or so) can easily be absorbed by 3 or 4 of these bad boys. Only thing to note is if you use them to clean up any polar solvents (alcohols, alkylhalides, ethers, esters, ets) to remember to pick them up after they absorb all the solvent. If left on the floor to dry the solvent causes them to stick to the floor and its a small pain to chip the pad off the floor.

They are working well and everyone I have encountered with NW Spill has been more than helpful. Sophy reached out to me and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
